Day X (6/21/22): Covid!
Just an update on the little twist in our journey. As most of you already know, I tested positive for Covid this past Sunday. It will be a Father’s Day to remember for sure.
We’re quarantining in Lancaster as this is where we left off. We’re making the best of it. Tish has found some bike paths where she can ride. She tested negative on Sunday, and is asymptomatic. So long as she is masked, she can go out. Perhaps most importantly, she found a place 20 minutes from Lancaster that sells Penn State Creamery ice cream—the best in the world. And remember, ice cream is really soothing for soar throats.
Speaking of soar throats…mine is a doozy. Like nothing I’ve ever had. I’ve been pretty much down for the count for the last 3 days, although I do feel a little better today. I’m pumped full of meds and will continue to rest until I’m ready to face the world again.
Clearly, the June 23 arrival in Manasquan is out. Just another adjustment I guess. It’s not worth being disappointed because it’s out of my control. My hope is to be back in the saddle over the weekend or early next week, although it’s all day-to-day.
I very much appreciate all of the kind words and encouragement so many of you have passed along. It really does make a difference.
